Music To My Ears

Music To My Ears

My heart beated with much anxiety as I tried to conjure enough strength to say a sentence, a word, anything.
I barely had the strength to look straight into your eyes, and had the confidence to tell you my overwhelming heart’s desires.
But nervousness overwhelmed me, as my lips parted and a sudden “hello” was said.
How time seemed to slow down from that moment onward, with each millisecond lasting seemingly for hours.
Then all I could remember was your saying “hello” back.

Distant echoes resounding in space,
And intangible chords, rhythm trace
Lifting higher beyond basking light,
To transcending worlds lost despite:
Absorbed within rising choral frame,
as the soul drifted to heavenly plane.
Not grasped, beyond a hand’s reach,
Confined within emptiness, so each
Chord occupied by simple thoughts,
Drifted away to where angels sought
The greetings of singing lark arrived,
Waking morning shine, now be alive!
Or the bristling blades of leafy petals
Kissing the wind in singing pastoral;
A symphony of multiform existence,
Singing in praise, for creation hence:
The splish-splashing of rain droplets
Falling downward, simultaneous yes,
But rhythmic percussion now glorify,
Beatings of exalt, of uplifting so high.
To now praise polyphonic creations
Of Heaven in infinite fugal ovations.
Playing each note, so intangibly near:
Grasping love’s music within my ear.
