A Letter To Cupid

     A Letter To Cupid

With these words, so deeply sincere;
I’d thus spoken softly, whispered now:
one favor for your heartbroken friend
who thus call upon you, from above.
Fly down to my world with an arrow
Pointing over that way.  there! her heart!
One arrow is all that I shall ever need:
To win her love, please do it if you can
For me, and promise you’ll be pleased!

If she falls for me, you will come to see:
My love will be, and there’s not one man
Who can love her, no one except for me.
Her smiles I’d cherished: everything all
Within my caress.  And those lips I stole
With a kiss.  And oh boy, at last be loved
By her – how wonderful! I won’t pretend
Her embrace is worth the tears somehow;
And look at me, all smile from ear to ear!

Now my friend, hope you are now clear
Repayments I’ll make in kisses oh wow!
To her lips, and all my loving I will send.
No disappointment this I promise, and of
Course, and extra hours I’ll work to show
What a perfect choice I make, even by far.
So let my kiss be credit for the generosity,
As I touch her loving face with my hand,
Cupid, thanks for the angel you’d sent me.
